Community Development also encompasses taking on a leadership role in the community on issues that affect the health and well-being of the families in the neighborhood and surrounding areas.

The Housing Development Corporation of the North End (HDCNE) located on Charles Street in Providence was established by The DaVinci Center to enhance the quality of living in the area.  In particular it focuses on providing affordable housing to low and moderate income people.  HDCNE also sponsors First Time Home-Buyers Workshops.

HDCNE also collaborates with many churches and nonprofit organizations to make the community a safer and more enjoyable place to live, work, and raise a family.  Their web-site address is: http://members.aol.com/hdcne
